Curriculum

Mario Cianferoni, also known as GARULPH, was born in Pontedera (PISA) in 1971; but he considers himself as Florentine, because he has always lived in the Florentine countryside landscape.

After his studies , at the famous Istituto d’Arte di Firenze (Florence School of Art), he had his professional training by the workshops of the last most important “Maestri Orafi”, Florentine goldsmiths artist.

But his love for every form of art carried him discovering “Digital Art”, in which instead of palette, tempers, brush painter, you use computer, tablet and imagination to reach the final finest artistic result:: portraits of symbolic figures, impressions screen on canvases or Plexiglas panels and other materials, after a long “high tech gestation”.

This new and peculiar “avant-garde art”, is making popular Mario a.k.a. GARULPH Cianferoni all over Italy. The artist GARULPH, describes surreal situations and emotional feelings related to daily life; he tells about  the human been fragility, about its desire of freedom and evasion .

The artist put on “Digital Art” his knowledge of goldsmith: his artworks are completely digital; his design is spontaneous and characterised by clean lines and essential forms, sometimes the artist confronts the complexity of the theme treated with the simplicity and the rigor of the scheme, playing with forms and using the versatility of “digital material”.

The observer can find in different images what it feels, it can recognise its self but even feeling as stranger, capturing the surreal and fantastic atmosphere hidden inside the colour lines of the artwork.
